How to approach this passage
Follow section labels A–G and separate the discussion of sleep duration, research, stages, ageing, treatment and synthetic melatonin. Use only the information in the passage when judging a statement.
Worked answer review
Question 36 is NOT GIVEN: repair and immune-system effects do not establish that sleep cures particular illnesses. Question 40 is TRUE because the passage places the temperature rise earlier in older people than in young people. Treat the health discussion as reading material, not personal medical advice.
Review your reasoning
- Locate the part of the supplied passage that supports your answer. Keep claims made in the text separate from your own knowledge.
- Check whether the task requires a letter, a short answer or a True/False/Not Given judgement. Follow the instruction for this question group.
- After checking the key, identify whether an error came from locating information, interpreting a statement or entering an answer in the wrong form.
